Building Faith Through Creativity: Student Church Project

At Resurrection Catholic Elementary School, learning about the faith goes beyond the classroom—it becomes a hands-on and meaningful experience.
Recently, our religion teacher, Mrs. Pat Clement guided students through a lesson about the important elements found in a Catholic church. Students explored the meaning and purpose of sacred items such as candles, the crucifix, the tabernacle, kneelers, the baptismal font, the choir area, chalices, and sacred vestments. This rich explanation helped deepen their understanding of the beauty and symbolism of our Catholic tradition.
To bring their learning to life, students were then assigned a special project: to build their own model of a church using a variety of materials. The results were truly inspiring. Many students created highly detailed designs, and some even constructed exact replicas of their own parish churches, including Sacred Heart Parish.
The creativity, effort, and attention to detail in these projects were remarkable. Our pastor, Fr. Lalo Mora, had the opportunity to view the students’ work and was deeply impressed by both the quality and the devotion reflected in each piece.
We extend a heartfelt thank you to our religion teacher, Mrs. Pat Clement for sharing her faith so passionately and for inspiring students to grow in their love for the Catholic faith and for Jesus Christ.
