At Holy Trinity Catholic School, students are encouraged not only to grow academically, but also to grow in their faith and in the virtues that help them become the people God has created them to be. This year, Holy Trinity is introducing a monthly Faith Focus connected to the selection of its Knight of the Month. The August Faith Focus is Responsibility.
Teachers prayerfully consider their students each month to recognize the unique gifts, strengths, and charisms God has given to each child. This approach was inspired by a diocesan staff retreat, where faculty refl ected on how every person is uniquely created by God and gifted in different ways.
These gifts help each person live out the virtues of Faith, Hope, and Love. The Faith Focus is a way of recognizing how those virtues can be expressed through each student’s unique gifts. For example, a student may still be growing in patience while demonstrating a beautiful gift for kindness.
At HTCS, the goal is to affirm what students are doing well while encouraging them to continue growing in the virtues of Faith, Hope, and Love. The August Knights of the Month are being recognized for demonstrating Responsibility and for using their God-given gifts to make a positive difference in their school community. Through this monthly recognition, Holy Trinity Catholic School hopes to remind every student that they are uniquely created, deeply loved by God, and called to use their gifts in service to others.
