Reconnecting with Faith at Lift Girl’s Retreat

64

Going into the weekend, I was looking forward to the opportunity to reconnect with my faith and take time out of the busy world to simply be with God. When I arrived at the retreat, I enjoyed meeting new people and talking to old friends, but God spoke to me the most during the quiet moments I had to myself. One of my favorite sayings I heard from the weekend is, “Put in the work and don’t quit,” reminding me of the value of perseverance: all good things come in time, no matter how long the wait may be. Not only was I able to reconnect with God during this retreat, but I was also able to reconnect with myself by reflecting on my ideals, while remembering the importance of not comparing my journey to others. This retreat reawakened my awareness of the graces–sanctifying and actual–that I need from God each day of my life, as well
as the necessity of keeping an interior life that is Christ-centered. The weekend as a whole allowed me to reflect on the priceless value of being a daughter of God and leaning on His love and providence no matter what I encounter.
