Last week, several school and parish leadership teams from across the Catholic Diocese of Biloxi gathered with a shared purpose: to strengthen the way we lead and to build teams that guide our schools and parishes with clarity, unity, and mission. Just as a parish or school flourishes when its leaders are aligned, so too does our diocese thrive when leadership teams are formed together. With the support and encouragement of the Bishop’s own leadership team, participants entered into a time of intentional formation designed to equip them for the work of shepherding our communities well.

The gathering was part of the Institute for Apostolic Leadership, led by the Missio Institute. The Missio Institute serves dioceses and apostolates across the country by helping leaders cultivate an apostolic mindset; one rooted in mission, clarity of identity, and a deep commitment to evangelization. Their approach integrates practical leadership principles with spiritual formation, ensuring that leaders not only learn new strategies, but also grow as disciples.

Throughout the three days, participants engaged in prayer, collaboration, and honest reflection. They explored what it means to lead with an apostolic vision: becoming more mission-focused, strengthening team health, clarifying roles, and fostering a culture of trust and accountability. Leadership teams worked side by side, identifying concrete steps to more intentionally guide their schools and parishes in fidelity to the Church’s mission.

This time together was more than professional development; it was a renewal of purpose. As these leaders return to their communities, they do so with a renewed heart and compassion to serve. Please join us in praying that the fruit of this formation will continue to bless our schools, parishes, and the entire diocesan family.

We are grateful for the dedication of these leaders who continue to serve their communities with faith, courage, and vision.
