First Saturday Devotion and Patriotic Celebration

All are warmly invited to join us at St. Mary Church in Woolmarket on Saturday, July 4, for a special First Saturday Devotion and Patriotic Celebration as we commemorate the 250th Anniversary of the United States.

On this day, we will gather in prayer to honor our Blessed Mother under her title of the Immaculate Conception, Patroness of the United States, and to ask for her loving intercession for our nation, our families, and all who serve our country. In keeping with the request of Our Lady of Fatima, we will also offer prayers of reparation to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

The morning will begin at 8:30 a.m. with Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament and the opportunity for Confession.   At 9:00 a.m., we will pray a Scriptural Rosary, followed by a meditation on the mysteries of the Rosary and Benediction. Holy Mass will be celebrated by Father Gillespie at 10:00 a.m.

Following the Mass, we will participate in a Marian Procession featuring the American Flag, the Papal Flag, a statue of Our Blessed Mother, a banner of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, and banners representing various ministries and organizations of St. Mary Parish. Together we will honor Our Lady and entrust our nation to her maternal care.  The procession will conclude at Murray Hall, where everyone is invited to enjoy a festive potluck luncheon, desserts, and refreshments while celebrating both our Catholic faith and our nation’s heritage.

Whether you are a long-time participant in the First Saturday Devotion or attending for the first time, we welcome you to join us for this beautiful day of prayer, fellowship, and patriotic celebration.
