Nativity School Foundation celebrates milestone through giving

The Nativity School Foundation awarded Nativity BVM School $89,060 in tuition assistance for the 2025-26 school year. This is the highest amount awarded since the Foundation’s inception. Each Nativity student will receive a $553 scholarship that will be applied directly to their tuition. For Principal Traci Kessler, this annual gift is a gamechanger for the school and its families. “Nativity School and its families are incredibly grateful to the Mavar family and the Foundation for their continued generosity,” explained Kessler. “Current families know to anticipate this scholarship, knowing their tuition cost will be lowered. Additionally, it is a wonderful help when encouraging new families to enroll as this scholarship is just one more reason as to why they should choose Nativity School.”
Founded in 2010 by the late Victor Mavar, Sr., the Nativity School Foundation aims at covering as much tuition cost per student, as possible. The first distribution by the Foundation was in 2018, at $300. This year’s $553 scholarship represents a 54% increase, an achievement whose merit is not lost on anyone. In total, the Foundation has awarded Nativity students almost $600,000 in the last eight years. Victor Mavar, Jr., helped present the check to Nativity School, along with the entire Foundation Board. “Catholic education is something that was important to my father,” remarked Mavar, Jr. “His faith was at the backbone of all he did and seeing this dream of his come to life through this annual award is truly a blessing.
The Nativity School Foundation is funded through the generous donations of former students, parishioners and legacy giving. For more information, please email the Foundation at http://www.nativityschoolfoundation.org.
