Eucharistic Procession Brings Jesus to the Heart of Campus
On April 24, 2025, at the University of Southern Mississippi, students and community members came together for our second annual Eucharistic procession. We brought Jesus in the monstrance from St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church into the very heart of campus. We were able to bring Real Presence of Christ to the places where students live, learn, and grow.
We began at St. Thomas Aquinas and proceeded with reverence through campus, stopping at the chapel in the center of USM. From there, we continued through the central walkways—passing dorms, academic buildings, and student gathering spaces—before returning to the church.
It was a profound gift to bring Jesus to the very spaces where students spend much of their time. We had the opportunity to witness to peers, offering them a moment with Jesus, even if they didn’t know him yet. Moments like these remind us that Christ desires to be in the midst of our everyday lives. This procession was a living expression of our faith and our mission—to bring Jesus to others, especially those who may not have encountered him before.
