SVDP members gather for annual Ozanam Mass at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Cathedral

On Sunday, September 17, the Society of St Vincent de Paul, Diocesan Council of Biloxi, held its annual Ozanam Mass at the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Cathedral in Biloxi. Celebrated by the Most Reverend Bishop Louis Kihneman III, the Ozanam Mass is held to honor all Vincentians throughout the Diocese who spend their time volunteering to help those in need. At this annual event, four Vincentians were honored for their continued dedication to the Society and were presented with the Jubilarian Crucifix by Bishop Kihneman. Mary Frances, Darlene and Mike Barry and Bill Migley all received this prestigious recognition as these individuals are exemplary models of what it truly means to serve.
At the conclusion of the Mass, Bishop Kihneman presented the St. Vincent de Paul Pharmacy with a donation check of $32,000. These funds were collected Diocesan-wide and both the St. Vincent de Paul Society and Pharmacy are grateful for the continued support of all parishes. Following Mass, a celebratory luncheon took place at the Sacred Heart Center where all Vincentians were honored for their continued efforts.
Last year, the St. Vincent de Paul Society provided assistance to over 27,000 individuals and families throughout the Diocese. Clothing, groceries, meals, medical assistance and so much more are given to those in need at no charge. This gift of giving is made possible by the financial generosity of all parishes, but also because of the wonderful volunteers who give countless time to this organization. New members are always welcome, and no donation of time or financial assistance is too small. Please visit the Biloxi Council website to learn more, https://www.svdpbiloxi.org/
