Join us for the 2nd Annual Bishop’s Gala
Catholic Charities of South Mississippi is hosting their 2nd Annual Bishop’s Gala “A Night of Hope” on Saturday, November 4th at the Beau Rivage Resort & Casino. Our Inaugural Bishop’s Gala last year was a sold-out event with 800 people coming together for an evening of dinner, dancing, fellowship, and fundraising for the programs of Catholic Charities. Our programs are vital to individuals and families within the Diocese of Biloxi. Below is just an example of how your support last year helped us to provide help and create hope! During the fiscal year of July 2022-June 2023, Catholic Charities of South Mississippi was able to :
- Distribute 1,405,604 pounds of food to food pantries across South Mississippi
- Provide baby items to 688 infants to help keep them healthy and safe
- Provide 922 seniors with social service coordination
- Assist 159 people with migration and refugee services
- Provide 3,732 households with case management, goal setting, and budget education
- Provide $175, 460 for 171 families to keep a roof over their head
- Assist 1,738 families in keeping their utilities on by using $372,173 of utility assistance funds
- Help 17 families return home again due to disaster with case management and $30, 462 in disaster assistance
- Offer 223 individual, marriage, and family counseling sessions
- Asist 2 families begin the Home Study process for adoption
- Help 31 people continue to live independently through our Representative Payee Program
