With deep sorrow and profound reverence, I join the faithful around the world in mourning the passing of our Holy Father, Pope Francis. His life of humble service, tireless compassion, and unwavering dedication to the Gospel touched countless hearts and brought the light of Christ to all corners of the globe.

The timing of his passing during the Easter season carries great spiritual significance. Just as we celebrate the victory of life over death through the Resurrection of our Lord, we now commend Pope Francis to the mercy and eternal peace of the Risen Christ. May his witness of love and mercy continue to inspire us all.

Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him.

Bishop Kihneman will celebrate a Memorial Mass for Pope Francis on Tuesday, April 22 at 10:30 a.m. at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Cathedral in Biloxi. All are invited.
